Allons-y, Nancy!

Next week, I’m taking off for my European vacation. I’m going to London first for a day of shopping, then out to Cardiff to the Doctor Who Experience. After that, I’m heading to Munich to spend time with a friend from college, her husband, and their new baby.

I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a LONG time. It’s been my light at the end of the tunnel all summer long, when the editing got to be too much or working two jobs wore me out. Now that it’s finally-almost here, I’m beyond excited.

I’ll of course be tweeting pictures and statuses from my trip, which meant I needed a hashtag to sum it up. Last year when I visited England and saw several Jane Austen sites, I tagged the posts #Darcyhunt. I wanted something equally catchy, possibly with a Doctor Who reference, but not just Doctor Who because that’s only one day. Kim came up with the perfect solution: #AllonsyNancy! “Allons-y!” was the Tenth Doctor’s catch phrase, and it’s French for “Let’s go!” which is exactly what I’m saying right now. As an added bonus, I love the way it sounds.

I’ve got a stack of Jane Austen books I’ll be dropping off at every port of call for the Secret Jane project. If you don’t know what this is, follow that link over to Indie Jane! We’re dropping copies of Jane Austen books out in the wild with an insert that invites the person who finds it to come over to Indie Jane. Think Where’s George, but with books instead. Here’s the complete rundown: Secret Jane Unveiled. I can’t wait to drop books off around the world! Follow this project with the hashtag #secretjane.

All of time and space; everywhere and anywhere; every star that ever was. Where do you want to start? (The Eleventh Doctor)

If you could go anywhere and see anything, where would you go?

Well, disqualifying anything Cirque related…Europe! Ireland and England and Norway, predominantly.

I would love to see the Northern Lights, if I could go anywhere I’d like to go and see that. I hope you enjoy your trip; I’ve not been to the Doctor Who experience yet although I live in Cardiff. Whenever we watch Doctor Who we try and identify the streets they’ve filmed in :-)

I was all ready to be shocked that you haven’t been yet, when I remembered it just opened in July. Actually, it all the Facebook posts about the opening that made me think of going.

And I love the idea of watching the show and identifying the streets. I know people in Portland who do the same thing while watching Grimm.
